Green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis) are either steamed or roasted immediately after harvesting to stop their enzymatic oxidation. This preserves their fresh aromas and the green colour of the tea plant, as well as its many valuable compounds. Green tea is the most widespread type of tea, especially in East Asia.

Bancha
A classic green tea from Japan caracterised by its minerality. Favoured among proponents of the macrobiotics diet and ideal in the evenings, this mild, alkaline tea is traditionally produced from a range of later harvests, including the coarse leaves of the rare kariban harvest, as well as the top-quality meban of the earlier intermediate harvest. Sourced directly from the farm in Japan and tested in a German laboratory.
Benifuuki
The Benifuuki cultivar is an assamica and sinensis hybrid that makes an incredibly potent green tea with a uniquely high content of catechins – namely EGCG and ECG, as well as the rare methylated catechins EGCG3''Me / -4''Me. Beneath the distinctively bitter taste of Benifuuki is a floral sweetness and a suggestion of black tea. Sourced directly from various tea farms in southern Japan and tested in a German laboratory.

Fukamushi Sencha
Fukamushi (深蒸し; deep steaming) is a special form of processing in which the leaves undergo an intensive, long-lasting steaming (over 60 seconds). This makes them particularly fine, almost powdery, and results in a much fuller, spicier and less astringent infusion than conventional sencha.

We source these special teas directly from selected top farmers from either pesticide-free or certified organic farms. Genmaicha
This green tea is a warming and highly aromatic classic. Blended with roasted rice, it is perfect for accompanying a meal, a cosy get-together with friends or for simply enjoying as a nourishing drink throughout the day. Depending on the variety, we use either high-quality organic rice or the particularly tasty Ise Hikari rice, as well as premium teas – our blends stand out from conventional genmaicha in terms of quality and taste due to our use of high-quality Meban bancha, sencha and matcha.
GOISHICHA
Fermented teas (hakkōcha 発酵茶) from Japan are a true rarity – even within Japan they are not typically known outside of the small area in which they are cultivated. Hakkōcha has a deep connection to the traditions of their respective regions and are only produced by very few tea farmers. Our double-fermented goishicha from Kōchi prefecture offers a completely novel and unique flavour experience, surprising the palate with its sour, fruity notes and woody fermentation aromas.
Green Tea Powder
Green tea powder, also called funmatsucha 粉末茶 in Japanese, is not only popular because of its convenience and intense, pure green tea taste: powdered tea preparations are also a higher source of nutrients and other bioactives than tea infusions, as the leaves aren't discarded after brewing.

Kamairicha
Rich in special tannins and polysaccharides, kamairicha is an oven-fired green tea with a sweet, nutty aroma, less bitterness and astringency than sencha and no grassiness. We source this tea directly from award-winning farms in Gokase and Ureshino, the two best regions for kamairicha in Japan.
Karigane Kukicha
A mild, slightly sweet green tea made mainly from stems and therefore relatively low in caffeine, karigane is nonetheless rich in umami/amino acids. Karigane teas are made from the stems of premium senchas or gyokuros, while kukichas are made from the stems of banchas or simple senchas. We offer classic sencha and gyokuro varieties, as well as fruity flavoured blends and delicately roasted kukicha, all sourced directly from leading tea farms in Japan and tested in a German lab.
