In contrast to other types of tea, black tea undergoes a complete oxidation process, transforming the colour as well as the flavour and polyphenol content of the tea. Black tea typically has dark tea leaves and an orange-reddish infusion, ranging in flavour from delicate floral to elegant chocolatey-malty.

We offer a Master Keemun crafted in the Gong Fu style, the highest level of traditional artisanal tea-making, sourced directly from its original terroir in Anhui. We also have an excellent everyday organic Keemun, sourced directly from a small farm in the Huangshan mountains.
Lapsang Souchong Black Tea
An especially high-quality expression of the renowned “smoked tea”. Unlike many commercially available Lapsang Souchong teas, it is not overly smoked, instead offering a purely natural, delicate smoky note owed to its traditional method of production. The tea is made from a locally endemic cultivar that grows wild in the region.
Yingde Hongcha Black Tea
Yingde Hongcha from Yingde Town in Guangdong Province is today regarded as one of China’s most prestigious black teas. It is famous for its elegant leaf appearance, its vibrant ruby-red infusion, and an aroma rich with notes of cacao and honey. Particularly prized is tea made from the Yingdehong No. 9 cultivar, which is used exclusively and in its entirety for our tea.
Taiwanese Black Tea
The island of Taiwan (formerly known as Formosa) is renowned for the consistently high quality of its teas, with Oolong and black teas among its most celebrated styles. The deliciously sweet Ruby Red (Hong Yu 紅玉) black tea is one of the most popular expressions of its kind. Ours is sourced directly from a renowned farm in the top terroir of Nantou and is grown using 100% natural cultivation methods, without the use of pesticides.

Korean Black Tea
Balhyocha is a traditional Korean black tea specialty, particularly associated with Hadong county in the south. Our Balhyocha is made from semi-wild tea trees that grow at the foot of Jirisan mountain where the hilly landscape with abundant fog and fresh mountain water provide the optimal conditions for growing tea. What's more, the tea grows amongst bamboo groves whose sweet dew helps to enhance the flavour, while the uneven terrain and special processing methods only allow for limited quantities of this much sought-after tea to be produced.
Earl Grey Tea
This popular British classic is refined with pure, organic bergamot oil, grown and gently cold pressed in the premier bergamot terroir in Calabria, Italy. All teas are our own creations, for which we have selected particularly aromatic, high-quality black and white tea specialities.
