Our turmeric is 100% from natural origin and comes from a renowned, already 10 years organic certified manufacturer from the original terroir in India. All other ingredients of this turmeric blend come from certified organic small farms from the best respective cultivation areas.

Character

Our Special Blend

After months of careful testing and blending of quality, flavourful ingredients, we have created a set of 4 reviving turmeric blends with individually composed characters. The basis of each blend is our premium turmeric from Gujarat, India, which distinguishes itself with its strong spice, light earthy notes, and delicate bitterness. The flavourful and rejuvenating properties of turmeric are complemented in each blend by organic herbs and spices.

Flavour

Base-building turmeric tea blend with cleansing and nourishing properties. The delicate liquorice flavour of anise perfectly pairs with the comforting warmth of turmeric. Subtle notes of roasted rice. Pleasantly spiced flavour.

Turmeric from India

Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.), a plant native to India that belongs to the family of ginger plants, has been considered sacred for more than 5,000 years. The ancient Indian Vedas scriptures indicate that the "yellow root", or "Indian saffron", has long been one of the country's most important spices. In Ayurvedic tradition as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the root is still believed to have important medicinal and therapeutic uses, and has warming, cleansing, and stimulating properties. In Europe, different types of yellow root have also been known to serve as liver and gall bladder remedies since ancient times. Turmeric is one of the most well-researched plants in the world, with most scientific interest focussing on the plant's unique curcuminoids. However, other components of the root (such as essential oils and tumerosaccharides) are increasingly becoming the focal point of research.

Laboratory Tests

We go to great lengths to identify the finest organic tea farms across the world’s most celebrated terroirs. All our teas are sourced directly from the farmer and, with a few exceptions, are certified organic or come from pesticide-free farms. Each batch of tea for every harvest is tested for pesticides and other pollutants in an independent German lab to ensure they meet our strict quality standards as well as HACCP food safety requirements.

Cultivation & Processing

Our turmeric is 100% of natural origin. Pure, home-blended natural fertiliser is used to enrich the soil with its nutrients. The turmeric is then harvested manually. To do this, the soil is first loosened and the turmeric roots are then harvested by hand or carefully dug up with a spade. The roots are then sun-dried on 5-7 cm thick layers of bamboo mats or drying soil. This is also meticulously carried out by hand without the use of machines.

All other ingredients in this turmeric blend are sourced from certified organic small farms in the best respective growing regions.

Brewing Guide

2 heaped tsp per 200-300ml (85°C) water. Steep for 3-5 minutes.

Packaging

High quality, airtight, resealable standing zipper pouch with 9 protective layers to preserve flavour and protect against oxidation and contamination.

The purity of our formulas is important to us. This is why we have both our raw ingredients as well as our finished products extensively tested by independent laboratories to confirm purity and active ingredient content.
