Dehua Katakuchi Yang

Dehua Collection

For over a thousand years, the mountainous county of Dehua has been renowned for its fine ceramics. Handcrafted exclusively for Yoshi en, our Dehua Collection of teacups and bowls honours this rich pottery heritage, blending centuries of mastery with modern aesthetics.

Made from high-quality clay and natural mineral glazes, the collection features two opposite yet complementary shades: the dark Yin pieces showcase the natural colour of the black clay, while the Yang are washed with a thin white glaze for a light, sand-toned finish.

Feel the texture of the earth in the unadorned, mottled surfaces, hand-turned into smooth, delicate forms, with traces of the process forever preserved in the throwing rings. Over time, a beautiful patina will emerge, every touch leaving an imprint of memory.

Whether for lively tea gatherings or a moment of quiet contemplation, on a hot summer’s day or a cold winter’s night, the Dehua Collection invites you to be in tune with the harmony of contrasts in the fluid motion of life.

Care

Wash gently by hand using mild dish soap, hot water, and a soft cloth or sponge. Allow to air dry naturally or pat dry with a clean tea towel.
